Hi, I’m Matthew. I started moving during my time going to school at UT Austin. I was moving to help pay for school, and I figured out pretty quickly that the moving industry was shady and deserved its bad reputation. While working for other moving companies across the city, I saw a lot of people being blindsided on billing, frustrated by the way their claims were handled, and disappointed in the quality of service they received. None of this sat right with me, and I decided to take what I learned to improve the moving industry. In the summer of 2020 after graduating from college, I filed for an LLC, and I decided to give the moving industry a shot.
I had no money so I started moving people using rented U-Haul trucks and equipment that I bought for around $200. I made some business cards and flyers for about $25. I pitched my little business at every apartment complex, furniture store, and storage facility in town. After about a month of pitching, I started to get my first clients.
Moving is a pretty big hassle for most people, so I tried to show every customer how much I cared about making their moving experience as smooth as possible. I think it showed, because, soon enough, the referrals started rolling in. In the Spring of 2021, I was able to buy my first two moving trucks— used 17’ box trucks from U-Haul. As I began to have a sizable number of employees, I tried to instill the same care and concern for the quality of the move in everyone who worked for Limestone. From our scheduling team to the movers to our mechanic, everyone at Limestone takes pride in their work and values the business of each and every customer. Matthew
Owner
Matthew is a true Austinite. He was born in North Austin, graduated from UT, and started Limestone Moving shortly after. When he’s not working, Matthew enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Once Limestone is more established, Matthew hopes to do environmental and nonprofit work to make the community and the world a better place.
Joel
Manager/Mechanic
Joel moved to Austin in September of 2020. He worked for a few moving companies before he found Limestone. Joel started as a mover then quickly found himself taking care of repairs and maintenance on the trucks, thanks to his experience working on cars as he grew up. Today his roles in the company include mechanic work, marketing, and moving. In his free time he enjoys paddle boarding and spending time with friends and family.
Esteban
Manager
Esteban was born in Houston, TX. Having lived in various cities around the great state, he developed a deep love for the Lone Star and doesn’t wish to leave any time soon. During his summer internships with the U.S. Forest Service and working between semesters as a biology student at Texas State University, he expanded his deep love and reverence for wild places and our country’s public lands specifically. He is enthusiastic about anything related to the outdoors and can often be found hiking the verdant trails of Central Texas, refreshing himself in Barton Creek, or climbing the limestone bluffs of the greenbelt.
Zane
Manager
Zane was born and raised just outside of Austin, Texas. He graduated from Round Rock High School and is currently working on his B.S. in Public Health at UT Austin. Zane started working for Limestone in his junior year of high school as a mover and worked up to manager. Occasionally you can still see him working a moving job or two.
Zane loves the outdoors and especially spending time on the local lakes. Other hobbies Zane enjoys when not working include working out and spending time with friends and family.
